WELCOME to Glenhope Elementary PTA!  Glenhope PTA is a 100% volunteer-driven, non-profit organization whose purpose is to support the children, families and staff of Glenhope Elementary School.  Our organization was formed in 1996 and provides many programs and activities for children and families that the school might not otherwise be able to provide.

Proposed amendments to the Standing Rules and By-laws are listed below.  These changes will be presented at the November General Meeting and voted on at the December Santa Breakfast.

Proposed Bylaw Changes

To be submitted to the general membership for final vote on December 5, 2009

 

The following is a change to the bylaws as recommended by the Bylaw Committee in October, 2009:

 

  1. Under Article VII - Section 5.  Each member of this Local PTA shall pay annual dues as determined by the organization.  The amount of the dues shall include STRIKEthe portion of one dollar and twenty-five cents (1.25)” ADD “the portions of two dollars and twenty-five cents ($2.25)” per membership payable to the Texas PTA, the portion of one dollar and seventy-five cents (1.75) per membership payable to the National PTA, and the Local PTA portion of three dollars and fifty-cents per member.

 

  

Proposed Standing Rules Revision

To be submitted to general membership for vote on December 5, 2009

 

 

The Bylaws and Standing Rules committee met in October, 2009 and recommended the following revisions:

 

Section IV – A) Gator Tales- The Gator Tales chairman will work with STRIKE “the librarian to submit the registration fee and compile magazine for the Rising Star Contest in accordance with contest rules.” ADD Glenhope faculty to select student works for contest submission.  The chairman will select outside judges to judge works based on rubric.  Winners and honorable mentions to be published in a magazine.”

 

Section IV – The Room Parent Coordinator: 

1)                          Shall select with the help of executive board the grade level coordinator and lead room parents from a list of classroom volunteers;

2)                          Shall work with the grade level coordinators to have two classroom parties a year;

3)                          Shall work with the Fall Festival chairman to coordinate parent volunteers from each classroom for the Fall Festival; and

4)                          Shall work with the Staff Appreciation chairman for staff appreciation events involving classroom participation.
